A few days ago I unshelved my instance following the recent shelving exercise. I have just tried to connect using putty, and it can’t find the host. When I go to https://bryn.climb.ac.uk/ it says my instance is active, but under ‘IP address’ it says ‘unknown’. I have tried rebooting several times and it makes no difference. I’d be grateful if you had any suggestions for what the problem is and how I can solve it.
We periodically recycle IP addresses from Shelved instances, because they are as in-demand as other computing resources. Apologies that yours got caught up in this, but hopefully you should be back to good now!
