In order to better use the limited capacity accross our CLIMB-BIG-DATA infrastructure, we have introduced the concept of server leases. By default, leases will last 2 weeks and can be easily renewed. You will be reminded by email close to the expiry date, and can either renew via. the one-click link, or the Bryn interface. Emails will be sent to the ‘assigned user’ for the server, which can be changed by a team admin.
The option to renew a server lease becomes available within 7 days of expiry .
Upon expiry, servers may be shelved without notice. You can restore shelved servers easily by unshelving them at a later date.
If you are running a webserver, or have some other special case, you can request an indefinite lease using the server actions menu.
